Utah does not have a law regulating high-capacity ammunition magazines. The private sale of firearms is legal in Utah for people over the age of 18 UCA 76-10-S509.9. But in 2013, after the Aurora Theater massacre, the Colorado legislature banned magazines larger than 15 cartridges. And the charges against Boulder`s suspect include 10 counts of using a banned magazine of large capacity while committing a crime. Category II includes persons who “have been convicted or are charged with a crime” or “have been convicted in the past seven years of an offence that, had it been committed by an adult, would have been a crime” or who are “an illegal user of a controlled substance” or “have been convicted of a criminal offence for mental illness” or “found mentally incapable, to be tried for a crime”. Crime” or “have been found to be mentally wrong as provided for in the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act” or “an alien who is illegally or illegally in the United States” or “has been disgraced by the armed forces” or “renounced citizenship after becoming a citizen of the United States.” 41-1a-102. Definitions. As used in this chapter: (8) “Automatic cycle” means the same as this term is defined in article 53-3-102. (11) `motorhome` means a structure designed, used and maintained primarily to be mounted or attached to a motor vehicle and containing a floor intended to provide mobile housing, sleeping space, commercial space or human habitation or camping facilities. 14. `commercial vehicle` means a motor vehicle, trailer or semi-trailer which: which is used or maintained for the carriage of persons or goods and which operates: (a) as a carrier for hire, compensation or profit; or (b) as a carrier to transport the goods or property of the owner of the vehicle for the promotion of the owner`s commercial enterprise.
(21) `electric vehicle` means a motor vehicle powered exclusively by an electric motor that draws its electricity from a rechargeable energy storage system. (36) “prefabricated house” means a transportable residential unit built in a factory and built from 15 September. Was created in June 1976 under the Federal House Construction and Safety Standards Act of 1974 (HUD Code) in one or more sections and has a width of eight or more body feet or a length of 40 or more body feet in travel mode; or if it is installed on-site, measures 400 square feet or more and is built on a permanent chassis and is designed to be used as an apartment with or without a permanent foundation when connected to necessary utilities, and includes plumbing, heating, air conditioning and electrical systems. (38) `mobile home` means a transportable housing unit built in a factory and built before 15 June 1976 in accordance with a state mobile home code that existed before the Federal Manufactured Housing Act and safety standards (HUD code). (40) (a) `motor vehicle` means an autonomous vehicle intended primarily for use and operating on motorways; (b) “motor vehicle” does not include: (i) an off-road vehicle; or (ii) a scooter as defined in section 41-6a-102. (42) `motorcycle` means: (a) a motor vehicle with a driver`s saddle and drive capacity on up to three wheels which come into contact with the ground; or (b) an autocycle. (47) “off-road vehicle” means the same as that term is defined in section 41-22-2. (51) `model of parking recreational vehicle` means a unit designed and marketed: (a) as temporary accommodation for leisure, camping, travel or seasonal purposes; (b) is not permanently attached to immovable property for use as permanent housing; (c) requires, for transit, a special permit for the carriage of motorways; and (d) is constructed on a single wheel-mounted chassis with a gross trailer area not exceeding 400 square feet in installation mode. (53) (a) `van` means a two-axle rear-wheel drive motor vehicle which has been manufactured, remanufactured or substantially modified to create an open cargo space. (b) `van` means a motor vehicle whose open cargo space is covered with a motorhome, motorhome hull, tarpaulin, removable soft top or similar structure; (60) `recreational vehicle` means the same as that term is defined in section 13-14-102. (79) “travel trailer”, “camping trailer” or “semi-trailer” means a transportable vehicle without propulsion, designed as a temporary residence for travel, leisure or holiday purposes and for which no special authorization is required for transport on the highway when towed by an autonomous motor vehicle.
